We are pleased to announce the availability of the CARE Level I PASRR training module on the Web.
Why take the Training Module
The Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is a federal requirement to ensure individuals, who have a mental illness or mental retardation/developmental disability or related condition/other developmental disability, are appropriately identified and further evaluated to ensure their needs are met in the most appropriate setting.
This training will explain how this regulation impacts potential nursing facility residents and what nursing facility staff needs to do to make sure their admissions meet this federal requirement.
Who should take the Training Module
Participants of the training will primarily be any new nurse or social worker to the nursing facility who will work with admissions or those nurses or social workers who have already taken the PASRR portion of the CARE training and need to be recertified. The training will be offered to other individuals, but they can only finish the certification to do the PASRR if they meet the criteria. Participants who expect to be able to assess will need to contact the local Area Agency on Aging for credential verification.
