Section 1: CARE Goals & Objectives / PASRR Federal and State
PASRR is an acronym forPre-Admission Screening and Resident Review.
PASRR came out of the 1987 OBRA because Congress was concerned with the growing number of individuals being housed in nursing facilities without their special needs being addressed.
PASRR is completed prior to Nursing Facility (NF) placement to determine whether the needs of an individual with a Mental Illness, Intellectual Disability/Developmental Disability and/or Related Condition/Other Developmental Disability can be met in a NF or if an alternative placement would be more appropriate.
What is PASRR?
